Auto Electric Mechanic
· Diagnose electrical issues in automotive vehicles using diagnostic tools, computerized testing equipment, and manual testing methods.
· Identify and repair electrical system malfunctions, including faulty wiring, blown fuses, damaged connectors, and malfunctioning sensors.
· Test and replace batteries, alternators, starters, ignition systems, and other electrical components to ensure proper functioning and performance.
· Install, repair, and upgrade electrical accessories and aftermarket components, such as alarms, audio systems, lighting, and navigation systems.
· Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex electrical problems and determine appropriate repair procedures.
· Perform electrical system inspections and preventive maintenance to detect potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
· Conduct voltage, current, and resistance tests to diagnose electrical system failures and verify proper operation.
· Repair or replace damaged or corroded electrical connectors, terminals, and harnesses, ensuring secure connections and proper insulation.
· Keep accurate records of all electrical repairs, parts used, and labor hours, and update maintenance logs and service records accordingly.
· Follow safety protocols and procedures when working with electrical systems, including proper handling of tools and equipment, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
Key Requirements Skills, experience and qualification
· Diploma or equivalent; in automotive electrical systems is preferred.
· Must have over 5 years experience as a heavy equipment electric mechanic
· Must Have a valid passport
· Proven experience as an Auto Electric Mechanic or similar role, with a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and components.
· Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and computerized testing equipment.
· Familiarity with automotive wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
· Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical problems efficiently.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards.
· Excellent manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and accurately.
· Physical stamina and agility to perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, and working in awkward positions.
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record
