Completing School with with great character and good results
My three nephews have gone through this school: Amos M. Muthiani, Stephen Kemboi and Kipyegon Limo. All came out with great character and a determination to succeed in academics in life and in every way. All are still pursuing university education. Amos went to public university on government sponsorship, the other two to private universities and colleges. The mix of children from different backgrounds is a great plus. The teachers especially presently are marvelous at molding the boys. They live on the campus and are present to encourage and require the boys to live a responsible life. I know as soon as I have another young man needing private school education, that is the place to take a boy to be taught how to be a responsible man.
The Springvale Boys High School (SBHS) is a Premier 8-4-4 boys’ only secondary boarding school which has the capacity to host around 320 students when at its peak. It has excellent facilities, qualified and dedicated teachers, and is strong in extra-curricular activities such as rugby, football, indoor games and it has a great school band. It is serious in character building of the boys; the students receive personalized care in a holistic Christian environment which has zero tolerance to drugs, alcohol and bullying. The fees are affordable but it also offers competitive scholarships to very needy bright students especially those who join the school in Form 1.
It was founded in the early 2008 to respond to a growing need for quality high school education in Kenya especially for boys. The founders had a vision of impacting the society through proper training of young men who would take up various leadership roles in the society. This vision continues to motivate the new Board to invest in an education that is transformative, Christian oriented and practical.
The school is set on 5 acres of attractive grounds situated in Machakos County. The County stands out because while it is away from the hassles of the Nairobi City, it is less than 70 kilometres away from Kenya’s Capital. The school’s surrounding and environment has been designed in such a way that the entire SBHS’ atmosphere reflects the philosophy and values of the school. It has an impressive on-site boarding hostel which provides quality care and accommodation for students, supervised by teachers who live on campus too.
The leadership has invested in relevant and up-to-date technology that will continue to support and enhance teaching and learning.
The Kenya National Curriculum is delivered through a broad range of subjects and the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) is the dominant qualification for enrollment to the school.
