Eneza Education - Nairobi

In 2011, Kenyan teachers and educators founded Eneza Education, also known as MPrep, with the goal of making technology useful for their students. To create the content of the initial Class 7 and Class 8 study tool, teachers from all parts of Kenya – from the rural areas of Nyanza to Wajir Town and the Mombasa Coast – came together. Their aim was to create a tool that combines the best of teaching techniques – scaffolded assessments, direct feedback, and high engagement – and make it available to all kids. To do this, they decided on a simple SMS-based system.
