Digital Printing
We print directly from CD, DVD or USB memory stick to one of our digital printers, providing you with a fast, professional and quality print every time. Prontaprint uses the latest software applications on both Apple Macintosh and Windows PC platforms, so we are able to accommodate most file formats.
The minimum print area is A4 and can extend to A3 and up to 320 x 640 and further to 320 x 1000 – this is the amazing equivalent of a 4 A4’s next to each other or a four part fold up brochure!
All this digitally, no need to set up costly litho machines for that short run. Once printed on the larger sheet, these can guillotined or die cut to any size required.
Benefits:
• Better for short runs as there are low set up fees compared to Litho printing.
• Digital printing is a four colour process reproduction method that uses electronic files. Unlike litho printing no printing plates are required and there is less waste of chemicals and paper because no ‘make-ready’ is required.
• Quick turn around times as there is no drying of ink involved.

Plan Printing from Hard Cover Books
There are times when you have thick, hard cover books that you just can’t take home regularly since all you need is just one page. Let Copy Queen services make it easier for you with our plan printing services.
Whether the book size is A2, A1 or even A0, you won’t have to worry about the printed copy. Our high standard machines can produce your copies without ruining the book binding of your material. Just take your book copy to our shop and speak with our staff on the plan printing service that you want.
You may also choose to have the page scanned for future uses. An example could be print a number of the copy through our large format printing.

Thermal Tape Binding
Tape binding uses a thermoplastic adhesive on a strip to bind books with amazing strength. In technique, it is similar to perfect binding, where the individual pages are glued to the book spine. The bound document has the advantage of opening near flat and is also aesthetically pleasing. Tape binding is a good choice for office documents dissertations, theses and review books. The maximum capacity is approx 350 pages and comes with the option of acetate or card front and back covers. Prices start from Kshs.40-1,000 depending on size and discount for bulk binding
Wire Binding
This involves punching small holes through the document and inserting a metal wire through to hold it together. Acetate front and back covers can be used with an additional card back if desired. Prices are offered depending on sizes and we give great discounts to bulk binding.
Comb/Spiral Binding
This involves punching slots into the document and inserting a plastic comb. Acetate front and back covers can be used with an additional card back if desired. Pages can be added or removed without destroying the comb.
Saddle Stitching
Saddle stitching is essentially stapling a publication down its spine and folding it in half. Mostly used for programmes and short booklets.

Perfect Binding
The most common style used for binding commercially produced paperback books. With this method, glue is applied to the left edges of the pages, and the cover is glued to the page block. This style of binding we do not do in house, typical turn around time is a week however rush service is available.
Stapling
For documents of up to 100 pages a staple can be inserted into any corner or double staples can be used.

Canvas Prints
At Copy Queen Services we use the latest Digital twelve colour printing technology, enabling us to create the highest quality canvas prints available. It doesn't matter whether your images are from a digital camera, or out of a photo album, anything can be used for printing. We can produce bespoke prints and photos to canvas from any original photograph supplied, or from art work you have created yourself.
Simply send us a digital file or give us your actual photo which we will scan at a high resolution to achieve a good file for printing. Because we use only the best printing methods and materials in the digital print market, your canvas prints will be nothing less than stunning!
We can also frame your print on gallery style wrap around wooden frames. Our software automatically creates extended margins by reflecting or stretching the areas near the edge of the image, to create a gallery wrap without sacrificing any of the original image.


Lithographic Printing
Copy Queen Services prides itself on being one of the first printing companies in Kenya to purchase a
Direct Imaging Printer.
The DI is a full colour lithographic printer, capable of producing consistent high quality prints such as, brochures, flyers, business cards, letterheads, compliment slips, presentation folders, envelopes, invoice books and statements. The DI is a sure way of maintaining consistent colour and quality for runs of 200 or more. It is also easier to maintain colour values over time with Litho printing as the oprator has more direct control over his colour palette compared to digital printing.

• Copy Queen Services offers a full business card, letterhead, leaflet and flyer print service using both digital and litho printing processes.
• Business cards can be designed, digitally printed onto 350gsm premium board and collected the same day. Our litho business cards are printed on 450gsm silk and are usually ready in two to three days. Either type of cards can also be matt or gloss encapsulated.

Mounting, Laminating and Encapsulation
Our mounting & laminating department has all the facilities on hand to ensure your presentations are finished to a high standard. Whether it’s mounting onto 5mm foam board or encapsulating within a gloss or matt film Copy Queen services can handle all of your requirements in house.
Mounting
We can dry mount prints onto either Kappa or Foamex. Kappa board mounting provides a rigid medium for which to display your prints for point of sale, presentations and all display applications. Kappa board mounting is both light weight and rigid. Foamex is a rigid hard wearing PVC that is compressed and very strong.
Laminating
This involves applying a thin layer of plastic on one side of paper, which enhances the finish as well as making it tougher. The main difference between encapsulation and lamination is that lamination does not seal the edges so it is not as durable. We can use gloss and matt film depending on your preference.
Encapsulating
This is when printed material is sealed in plastic. This involves applying two layers of plastic, one each side which bond to the material and have a seal around the edge. This edge seal prevents dirt, moisture etc from being able to penetrate the material. We can use gloss and matt film depending on preference.

Scanning & Archiving
Large format, small format, colour or black & white, we offer the highest quality scanning service available. Metro Repro has a huge amount of knowledge and experience in this area. Using our cutting edge equipment, we can transfer you hard copies into a high quality digital format.
We can scan a wide variety of originals including drawings, reports, legal documents and artwork etc. These can be scanned and saved in various file formats onto CDR or DVD.
Our large format scanner has full high definition (HD) 1200 dpi optical CCD resolution. CCD technology provides superior colour imaging - the ability to scan a wide gamut (range of colours) and a high dynamic range (ability to see detail in dark and light areas) - combined with 1200 dpi optical resolution, the highest optical resolution available in any CCD wide format scanner in the market today. This enables us to capture vibrant, accurate colours for graphics as well as sharply defined line detail on technical documents and maps.
We can also scan using OCR (optical character recognition). OCR scanning produces a fully searchable, text editable file in either a text or PDF format. Using the latest high quality Canon equipment, we can scan over one meter wide by virtually unlimited length. A4 documents can be scanned at blistering speeds of upto 180 pages per minute!.
Our state of the art vectorising service, transforms legacy paper drawings into fully native AutoCAD format DWG or DXF files.

CD and DVD Printing and Burning

Copy Queen services offers low and high volume CD or DVD printing and burning. Our machine is capable of printing directly onto a printable CD or DVD while burning it. There is also the option of having regular stick on labels printed.
We have our own stock of CD’s and DVD’s, which we can supply to you or feel free to supply printable CD’s or DVD’s or your own.
