Electric fences are installed to prevent unwanted access to home or compounds by unauthorized or unwanted people. They can be installed to prevent wild animals from accessing properties or farms or in case of ranches and big farms to prevent domesticated animals from starting outside the farm.
Electric fences work by having high voltage current flowing around the high tension wires that jolts or can electrocute a person or an animal in case he comes into contact with the fence. The voltage is in the range of up to 10,000 volts but to avoid so many electrocution the current flows in pulses of few milliseconds such that if anyone comes into contact with it, he will be jolted out of the fence, it is only if he continue being in contact for a longer time that electrocution can occur.
