Meru Herbs - Nairobi

MERU HERBS is the trade name of herbal teas grown and packaged in the Meru region of Kenya, on the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya. All our produce is grown along a stretch of the Kithino river (a tributary of Kenya’s largest river,theTana) in Tharaka-Nithi District of Kenya.

The project grew out of a Water Project established by the CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF MERUin 1985 for the benefit of a group of local farmers, with funding from the Italian Government. Meru Herbs was founded in 1991to alleviate the finacial constraints then be setting the local farmers, while contributing to the operational and maintainance costs of the Water Project.
