This short budget safari concentrates on Maasai Mara. The position of the accommodation has been chosen to make it easy to do game drives to any of the park locations with a better density of the big cats . It has been crafted for the serious wildlife viewer and is a must do safari. Stretching 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) and rising 1,500 - 2,170 meters above sea level; hosting over 95 species of mammals and 570 recorded species of birds, the Maasai Mara National Reserve is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system.
The Maasai Mara National Reserve is home to an abundance of big cats including the lion, leopard and cheetah. The Maasai Mara ecosystem is home to one of the highest lion densities in world and this is where over two million Wildebeest, Zebra and Thomson's Gazelle migrate annually.
It takes 4-5 hours to cover the 270 km from Nairobi by road. There are several charter flights available and it takes 40-45 minutes of flying time to get to the Maasai Mara
