Review of Delamere Estates

Delamere Estates

I buy Lucerne from Delemare estates, in small quantities on a regular basis. The reason for the small quantities is that the Lucerne is ALWAYS baled wet and the bales have to be broken open and dried in the sun. I have no idea how farmers, who buy large quantities do with this wet fodder. If bales are bought three or four days after baling, most of the bales are spoilt. I bought 10 bales this morning and, from the content, I would feel confident in saying, that this was cut green and baled on the same day (yesterday?) as the Lucerne was still very green and wet and the inside of the bales were very hot. WHY DO YOU CUT AND BALE WET LUCERNE? To my way of thinking - I am a small scale farmer - this is very bad farming practice. Explain please? 4/10 rating
