DESIGN CONCEPT:
Our 20Mtr High Mast is fabricated locally in Thika.The wind speed considered in this design is at 160 Kmph=45m/sec acting on the most unfavourable direction,taking into acount the effect of luminaries with its control gear.
It has a hexagon shape,tappered,with a lantern lowering mechanism consisting of :- a mechanical winch drum type,Galvanized wire ropes 4.5mm & turnbuckle assembly.
The Mast is made of two sections,the upper having a length of 10,250mm and the base section having a length of 9,750mm.Once joined on site it has a slip overlap of 660mm.
The mast is hot dip galvanized to give a good surface finish and for prevention against weather corrosion.All welds are smooth and spatter removed.
