Hydraulic Mechanic
· Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hydraulic systems, including hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and fittings, to ensure proper functioning and safety.
· Diagnose hydraulic system malfunctions, identify root causes of issues, and develop effective repair strategies to minimize downtime and maximize equipment uptime.
· Disassemble, clean, and rebuild hydraulic components, including replacing worn or damaged parts, seals, and gaskets, following manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
· Test hydraulic systems and components using diagnostic tools, pressure gauges, flow meters, and other equipment to verify performance and identify potential issues.
· Repair or replace defective hydraulic components, such as pumps, motors, valves, and actuators, using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
· Fabricate hydraulic hoses and tubing assemblies, selecting appropriate materials, fittings, and connectors, and ensuring proper installation and crimping techniques.
· Document all maintenance and repair activities, including work performed, parts used, and test results, in maintenance logs, service reports, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
· Follow safety protocols and procedures when working with hydraulic systems, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and proper handling of hydraulic fluids.
· Assist in troubleshooting and repairing other mechanical systems and components, as needed, to support overall equipment reliability and functionality.
· Keep abreast of advancements in hydraulic technology, tools, and techniques through training, professional development, and industry publications.
Key Requirements Skills, experience and qualification
· Diploma in hydraulic systems or related field is preferred.
· Proven experience as a Hydraulic Mechanic or similar role, with a strong understanding of hydraulic principles, components, and systems.
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
· Familiarity with hydraulic testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity, with the ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and accurately.
· Physical stamina and agility to perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, crawling, and working in confined spaces.
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if required for travel to job sites)..
